A Plano West High School senior was arrested a few weeks ago on felony charges of evading arrest. High school senior Sotonye Jambo was the star football player from Plano West. He had even just signed to play for UCLA. However, these plans can change due to his current incident.
According to records, Jambo was speeding down the highway and police attempted to pull him over. During the chase, Jambo ran a stop sign, objects were thrown out of the windows, and served around cars, putting other drivers in danger. After chasing Jambo down the highway, Jambo eventually pulled over and was arrested for evading arrest with a vehicle, which is a third degree felony. Jambo was also given written warnings for minor in possession (MIP), minor in consumption (MIC), speeding, disregarding a stop sign, and not having a driver's license present with him. The passengers in the car with Jambo were given tickets MIP and MIC.
If Jambo is convicted, he can face six months to two years in a state jail . A state jail differs in a way that it is not day–for-day like a county jail. You don't get shorter time for good behavior and you do not get out early on parole. This can definitely hurt his career as a football player if he is convicted. What do you think?
