Sophia was passionate about the blatant injustices of our “justice” system, which led her to dedicate a year to writing a law review comment about how the criminal justice system discriminates against indigent individuals, especially minorities.
Her legal comment was among a select few student articles chosen for credit with honors.
A portion of her comment won third place in the SAAACF Social Justice Writing Competition in 2021.
Sophia began her career as a legal assistant for the Law Offices of Tim Powers in 2017.
It was during this time that Sophia became interested in criminal law.
Once admitted to law school, she transitioned to a law student intern for the Law Offices of Tim Powers.
Sophia continued to learn and develop her criminal law knowledge during her second summer of law school while interning with the Denton County District Attorney’s office in Denton, Texas, under the Felony Family Violence Unit.
During Sophia’s final semester of law school, she was a student attorney for St.
Mary’s Criminal Law Clinic, where she practiced the skills she learned and reached two dismissals.
After graduating, Sophia worked as an associate attorney in Grayson County.
There, she handled numerous criminal cases across North Texas, expanding her knowledge of criminal law.
Sophia’s passion for criminal defense empowers her to use her skills to provide both compassionate and vigorous representation to reach the best possible outcome.
